The page you just created will last only 7 days by default. The expiration date can be lengthened to 9 months and I don't believe it's possible to make it last any longer. The site boasts quite a few features. Your cl1ps can even be password protected and set to a few different formats: plain text, rich text, and message board. Each cl1p site you make can make use of a special bookmarklet known simply as a CL1P button which is an easy way to append text to a cl1p. The bookmarklet is located under extras on any cl1p and is associated with the cl1p it is found on.
Dragging the bookmarklet to your bookmarks bar you can select some text on any other site you want to save and click the CL1P button. The text will be appended to the bottom of the cl1p you took the button from, along with the URL it was copied from. Neat, huh? I'll close this post with a few last thoughts:
1.Turns out, this is a great tool for programmers who often need to share code without totally messing up the syntax in the processes.
2. The auto save has worked flawlessly for me and makes it viable for use by writers like me who need double the assurance that their work is being saved. If the servers crash they still have it up on their screen and can copy out the text before refreshing or closing the page, and if their computer crashes then their writing is still safe, in cyberspace. I doubt both of those disasters would happen simultaneously. Plus, it can be completely private with the password features.
3. If it's file sharing your looking for, this site doesn't have it at the moment, all it deals with is text unless you don't consider html text.
You can find the site's rarely updated twitter at: http://twitter.com/cl1p
I'm pretty sure that might be the only way to reach the site's creator too. Okay, new posts sooner than you might think...☮
